Pete Bonee is a partner at Innosight Ventures Pte. Ltd., a fund management company applying the Disruptive Innovation theories of Prof. Clayton Christensen to venture investing. Pete focuses on early stage technology companies and he is a general partner for the IDEAS Ventures fund. Pete was the founder of Sylantro Systems Corp. (acquired by Broadsoft), a supplier of application software to enable enhanced telephony services over broadband networks. He served as Sylantro’s CEO from 1998 to 2006. Prior to founding Sylantro, Pete was Vice President of Product Operations at Latitude Communications (acquired by Cisco). As a member of the early startup team at Latitude, he led the development of Latitude’s MeetingPlace conferencing products. Before Latitude, Pete was Vice President of Engineering at VMX Incorporated (acquired by Lucent), a worldwide leader in voice messaging products. He led VMX’s product development operations and was instrumental in establishing OEM relationships with worldwide partners such as Matsushita, Siemens, and Toshiba. Trained as an engineer, Pete worked at ROLM Corporation in the early 1980’s. At ROLM, he developed numerous hardware and software subsystems of the ROLM Computerized Branch Exchange (CBX) product line. Pete's educational background includes an MSEE degree from Stanford University and an SBEE degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Pete also attended the AEA Executive Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. |
